NaNo Day Four

So -- it's day four. My word count is 8219, and I'm having the hardest time not editing as I write. When I get something down and I think it sounds like crap, all I want to do is go back, delete it and write something else. But all the advice I've read says not to delete anything because it lowers your word count.

On a plus note, I like the way my characters are developing-- and I really like Danny & Octavia's relationship.

Today's writing highs: I'm almost to the point where she meets Simon and Susan, and I've already got most of the outlining done for that scene. It's different writing this novel compared to the other ones I've written because I actually know how this one will end up. I know the ending, and that allows me to add a lot of good foreshadowing at the beginning.

Today's lows: I'm much more interested in the show, "Supernatural," than I am in writing right now. I'm smack dab in the middle of the fourth season, things are just getting good, both of the brothers are getting laid now. It's totally taking up a lot of my daydreaming time, which used to be spent coming up with interesting dialogue and complex plot twists to throw at my characters.

I'm currently reading "Bitten" by Kelly Armstrong. I'm about three chapters in and, so far, it's okay. I'm not really down with the cold, serious heroine. Elena is a bit of a bitch, and she never smiles. But I'm hoping the obvious hero, Clayton, will be able to change that. (In fact, I'm pretty sure the obvious hero, Clayton, will change that.) This is a bit of a new genre for me, since I try to mainly stick with Vampire fiction. This one is about werewolves. But so far, it's pretty good, again, aside from the FMC being somewhat intolerable.

In celebrity news, Justin Beiber may be someone's baby daddy. A twenty year old girl from California claims she and Beiber hooked up in a bathroom during one of his concerts at the Staple's center last year. Despite Beiber's repeated denials, she's demanding a paternity test and the LAPD are investigating the situation. Just when you're thinking "Hollywood Claims Another Stupid Kid Celebrity," the story gets even funnier. Now, the girl might face statutory rape charges if it's true because Justin Beiber would have only been 16 at the time, technically a minor in the State of California, and the girl would have been 19, legally an adult.

So, one of two things is true here:

Justin Beiber is her baby daddy, and just like every other adolescent teenage boy, he got some ass and rolled the fuck out. He's Justin Beiber for christ sake. Honey Beiber don't give a shit. And if this is the case, and he didn't use a condom, I just have one question for him:

Photobucket

OR --

This bitch is crazy.

Photobucket

Either way... someone's a lying ass mother fucker.

Jury's still out on this one. My money's on him turning out to be the father. Something just tells me Justin Beiber is not as innocent as he would have us believe.

Dude is a Boy-Slut -- period.

Just look at his buddies -- Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Usher -- c'mon -- USHER? You wanna' tell me Justin Beiber's best friends with Usher and he's not getting laid everywhere he turns? This is the singer of such musical stylings as "Nice & Slow," "My Little Freak," and "This Ain't Sex." I wouldn't be surprised if Justin Beiber and Usher were fucking the same girls at the same time -- Yeah -- get that image in your head. Let it simmer.

Justin Beiber's so popular with the teenagers these days that he could, and probably is, nailing little bitches like this all across the country, and I wouldn't be surprised if fifty more dumb hoes come crawling out of the wood work looking to ride the coattails of his Beiber fame. You didn't really think you were the first one, did you Selena Gomez? Aww, you did, didn't you? That's cute.

"Everybody knows I got a way with the ladies. Chelsea Handler wants a piece, Kim Kardashian wants a piece, Selena Gomez already got a piece."

Okay, seriously, go watch this video by Jenna Marbles. She's hysterical. And whenever I'm having a bad day, I just pull this bad boy up and it brightens my mood everytime:

LMAO! Okay, all joking aside. You really just can't make this shit up. More to come from the Beiber Baby Mama Drama as it unfolds.

Ahh well, that's all I got. I'm gonna' go watch some Supernatural and call it a night. Thanks for reading folks!

Just finished reading "Angelfire," and I LOVED IT!!!! Read it if you have the time. The ending was good, definitely left some room open for the sequel and subsiquent third book. I loved the twist with what Ellie really is and I have to admit, I sort of saw it coming, but not in the way that it happened. Without going into spoiler territory, I'll leave it at that.

In addition, I also had time to read "The Diary of A Narcissistic Bloodsucker," which is a short story by Lynda Hilburn. I purchased her "Vampire Shrink" when it was on sale as a Kindle Book-of-the-day jam, saw the Narcissistic vampire one and couldn't resist.

IT'S HILARIOUS!! I was laughing pretty much the whole time, and to be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that it was only a short story, as I wanted it to never end. It's basically about this very powerful mental vampire named Zara who's been around for thousands and thousands of years. She wakes up after having spent a hundred or so years sleeping and she realizes something's different, but she just can't put her finger on it. Then, she meets this hottie, Niven, and there's some craziness with the guy who turned her into a Vampire. It's nuts. It left me wanting more, and I guess that's a good way for a story to end, especially a short story, but -- the fact remains. I want more.

Anyways, just wanted to get that up really quick before I forgot about it. Funny GIFs and Celebrity news to come tonight.

Day 2

So today was absolutely one of the most tiring days of my life thus far. Besides getting up at six like normal for work, I had to go take my placement exams for college. This was the same placement exam I took last week and did miserably on. To be honest, I was too cocky and I went in thinking I could pass the Algebra without studying. HAH! What an ass I am. I got a 56 on it. A 56!! Yeah, I cried.

But never fear! I took it again, after spending a week reading "Algebra Survival Guide: A Conversational Handbook for the Thoroughly Befuddled" by Josh Rappaport, and I got a 94! Not only that, but it brought back all kinds of equations and rules and expression that I'd long forgotten. I even placed out of the class I was testing to get into in the first place.

HAH! I rule!

I'm kind of on top of the world right now, honestly. I absolutely thrilled that I did as well as I did.

And then I went to my very first write in ever. I had signed up to host, but my testing went way over and I didn't even leave HCC until 6, the time I was supposed to be on the other end of town. So, I was fifteen minutes late and felt like an enormous ass.

But I got a lot of writing done, and the ladies seem super awesome. I'm glad I forced myself to get involved. Even though I'm sure I could hit 50,000 words on my own, it was good to meet up with other people doing the same thing as me and connect on a common ground.

Today's writing highs: I got a lot pumped out. I felt a bit rushed at the write in, but it definitely forced me to focus on the action and get the story moving, not focusing so much on editing or internal monologue.

I figured out Octavia's running habits and what her apartment looks like. I started writing a fight scene but then decided I wanted it to take place a little later, while she's in her apartment. I want to show Octavia in her element, just watching TV and drinking a beer, chilling on the couch with Murray.

Today's writing lows: Again, I felt a little rushed, like I couldn't fully develop my sentences the way I wanted. But I don't think that's so bad. I can always go back and edit. And I'm tired -- again. I think I need more sleep.

Well, that's all I've got for today's writing news. In celebrity news, Scarlett Johansson isn't feeling any shame for her nudie pics. Article here Good for you, honey! Don't let that hacker fuck get you down. Up until now, I assumed she was just another one of those airhead actresses, slutting her way to the big time. (Yes, I'm a big hater because she was married to Ryan Reynolds, ditched him, and started dating Sean Penn? Talk about slumming it.) But color me surprised, she's got some balls. Love it.

And Lindsey Lohan gets more jail time for failure to comply with her probation orders. She'll serve a grand total of six days behind bars due to "overcrowding." Anyone still care about this broad? She hasn't done a movie since that piece of shit with Jane Fonda.

But -- I am a little excited to see her spoiled, drunk ass in Playboy.

Just sayin'

Photobucket

Currently, I'm reading "Angelfire" by Courtney Allison Moulton, and I've got to say, I love it. It's basically about this girl, Ellie, who starts to have this horrible nightmares about "Reapers" trying to kill her. Reapers are kind of like Demons that walk Earth and kill people. And then she meets this guy, Will, who's been assigned to "Guard" her. Turns out, he's sort this Angelic Reaper and she's supposed to be this ruthless assassin who goes out and kills all of the bad, demon Reapers. Her soul has been in existence for thousands and thousands of years, and she keeps dying only to be reborn eighteen years later.

There's a lot more to it than that, obviously, but I was hooked after the first chapter. Ellie has such a charismatic personality, and she's not all about trying to get a boyfriend, which can happy with a lot of YA novels. Will is adorable, and he's absolutely devoted to her in a way I wish anyone felt about me. The sexual tension is immediate, and even though it's YA, (Which SUCKS!) I found myself wanting more and more. I read the first 75% in a day. But, then I got a 56 on my Math Placement and started cramming for that. I can't wait to get it finished tomorrow and tell you how awesome the ending was, cuz at this point, I'm pretty much convinced this will be an awesome book. If you're a fan of Urban Fantasy, I strongly recommend it.

Oh -- and if you haven't read "Covet" by JR Ward, you can skip it. I tried to make my way through that, and though it was an interesting concept, it's set in the same world as BDB, and it only made me want to stop reading that and go find my copy of "Dark Lover."

After this one, I'm hoping to start "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," or possibly, "Bitten" by Jennifer Armstrong... Or "Aphrodite's Kiss" by that other lady... I dunno what I'm gonna' read. I'll let you know when I decide.

Well, that's all for me tonight. I'm off to spend sometime with Dean Winchester, and then I'm headed to bed. Ta-Ta.

NaNo First Day

So, today was the first official day of NaNo, and I'm definitely off to a good start. I'm almost finished my first chapter with total word count at 3732.

There's just one little problem. I've spent so much time and energy pumping myself up for this, that now I'm fricking whooped. Of course, I did go to Zumba today for the first time in a week, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. And -- if we're being honest -- this was me this weekend:

Photobucket

Hopefully, I'll catch up on sleep tonight.

I did manage to get my swap boxes done - YAY! for motivated me - and I'm planning on getting them out this Saturday. So, if you're reading this and you're supposed to get one from me, expect it mid-next-week.

Highlight of Today's Writing: I found out that Octavia is a bit more sarcastic than I originally thought. When I wrote out the outline, Octavia's tone was more reserved and a bit more naive. Now, though, half way into my first chapter, she's a hard ass, and a hilarious one at that.

I've also discovered more about her relationship with Danny, more than what my character sheets could have given me. It's like fighting fire with fire between those two. But that's sort of why they love each other so much. It's eerily like looking a mirror for them.

Downside of Today's Writing: I'm too tired to go on. I've got more dialogue in my head, I can see how the chapter ends. I want to get it out. But -- I need a shower, I need Dean Winchester and I need my bed.

In other news -- Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphries are getting divorced after only two months of matrimony.

Photobucket

Are you fucking kidding? Dude -- her wedding cost more than everything thing I've ever owned in my life. For two months of being married?

I sigh in disgrace at you, Kim Kardashian. For Shame!!

I heard she didn't even tell him before she did filed.

Photobucket

That bitch doesn't know what she wants. And she has everything, so whenever she does get something, she's always looking for the next. Not that he's any treat. I hear he's a jerk.

I bet they're back together in three weeks. Quote me.

But whatever. They're celebrities, right? This is how they live. What upsets me is that they're a model for children these days, and they don't even know it. Even the Obama girls wanna' watch their stupid show. And this is how this dumb bitch acts.

I digress. I don't have time to rant about this now. I'm off to the shower. Nighty Night.
